Do repeat exams count coursework?

Right basically I failed most of my modules, but I had found a majority of the exams quite easy so my only explanation is the fact that I handed in pretty much nothing in terms of other assessment materials (homeworks, essays etc). The two modules I did pass were the the only ones where I had anything to show for myself prior to sitting the exam (weekly MCQs and an in class test). I have excuses of varying levels of uselessness for this, but that's beside the point.

From what I gather, the repeat exams offer a maximum of a 'Pass'. That is, if you get every single question correct, you get 40%. Does this effectively mean that if you pass the exam you pass the module?

how coursework applies varies from faculty as far as I know. Commerce heads had to pass all their exams before coursework would be counted but i don't think this applied in d'arts... so go straight to the source son if it's important and don' be relying of dodgy message boards.
