News of this range has been around for a few months, but i've seen no mention here, so..:pac:

The big news last year was the Line6 Bogner collaboration, which was basically a Spider digital preamp mated with a Bogner-designed poweramp. The next joint-venture is this: a Bogner designed all-valve amp, built in China and sold through the Line6 network (meaning we'll see them in Musicmaker).

    http://www.bogneramplification.com/index_alchemist.html

Looks pretty cool, a mix of vintage and modern sounds, switchable poweramp, some Line6 digital delay/reverb. Price point rumoured to be around €1000, although theres different models of head/combo, so the heads could be cheaper, or vice versa.

Edit - I see a preliminary price on a UK shop of €720 for the head, and around €1000 for the 1x12.

An affoardable bogner....hmmm interesting. Still id rather save up for the real deal than some cheap immitation, then again at about 4k for the uberschall head alone...i might not get around to ever doing that.

First Cornford, now Bogner. I like this trend, it brings out the Eddie Hobbs in me:pac:

'4k for the uberschall head alone'

WTF? are you mad....for a fricken head.
Will the audience in your pub gig notice the difference between that and a Marshall MG...........a big NO....

Sometimes common sense goes out the window.

An Ubershall costs around €2300 new or less. Not 4k.

A 2 grand Bogner will give decades of trouble-free use, easy to service, and will hold a good deal of its value upon resale.

A 1 grand Marshall will start giving trouble sooner, more often, cost more to service, and might fetch half what you paid for it in 5 years time.

Yeah, people who buy Bogners have no common sense alright.

Post #2 said the uberschall head was 4k. That would be mental for a head. 4 f**kin' grand.....

If your way of looking at things is that the audience won't notice the difference, why don't you ditch that Gibson Les Paul and use this instead? :pac:

You pay for what you get. And anyway just because people in a pub mightent appreciate it, you sure as hell would.

Common sense goes out the window when you buy a gibson ;)

My bad, last time i checked it was ridiculously expensive. Thought it was 4 k for some reason off the top o me head. Prob around the 4000 dollar mark why i got confused. Still though like people say its not just about what other people think, its what you hear yourself and for the maintinence free issues.

I have almost ditched the Gibson Les Paul....if somebody will f**kin' buy it.
And before anyone says buying a PRS is a waste.....i picked a PRS custom 22 w/bird inlays and Emerald Green '10 top' for €1180 from the UK in perfect nick.
    (€2999 on Thomann)

I hope that owners is not offended by Karl H slating the Harley Benton LP.

I had no common sense when i bought the Gibson a few months back, but it was an Irish seller on ebay for €1100 delivered to the doorstep....

I never said that people who buy Bogner have no common sense. I said that anyone who spends 4k on a Uberschall head. Which was not exactly correct info...Bogner users, please don't kill me.

OK...so the Marshall MG on the pub audience was a bit thin......
    I will take it back.

HAHA ive seen some dodgy equipment at gigs before. Ive seen many a squire and MG! And usually the sound sounds pretty good through the PA. And then you think to yourself why am I spending a fortune on my gear? But its not until you hear stuff recorded back I think that you totally hear the difference.

Fine amps indeed. I have a F50 and love it, its just a great plug and play amp.

It'll be interesting to see what the quality of these Bogners are like.

Mesa have their 'affordable' range (the express series, or the F-series before them) which basically have the exact same build and component quality as the bigger brothers. Blackstar amps make stuff in China, but handwired stuff, which is an interesting approach. Cornford got their stuff cheaper by switching from handwired to PCB, but keeping it made in Britain. Marshall...we'll lets not even mention their cheaper amps :pac:(AVT and MG etc)

And now Bogner, known for being extremely high-quality will be having these made in China, by Line6...I wonder what the circuit and component quality will be like. Interesting to find out, they should be released shortly.

Well yeah. Line6 have access to factories, employees, parts suppliers etc in China, and with the SpiderValve, I guess they sorted an assembly line and parts for valve amplifiers. So they're physically producing the amp (afaik) and also using their distributers to sell the amp. Mr Bogner presumably designed it, and its being badged 'Bogner' (not Bogner by Line6 or soemthing), so it'll be interesting to see what kind of control he's kept over build quality.

Anways, its all speculation at this stage, should all be revealed when they start shipping.

Plays savage....sound is nice and full for the rhythm guitars and searing for the leads. I don't know why people are critising the PRS Dragon pickups.
The PRS CE range with bolt on necks are more bright...a pinch too much for the pub gigs....although they are great too for lead work.

Wide fat neck, not to everyones taste, but i'm used to all sizes at this stage. The action goes as low as you want.....how low can you go....???

Looks nice too...i don't know what materials are used in PRS fret wire, but i have never seen one that had much fret wear.

Ebay man.....from the UK. You could pick one up for €1300 or less.
    You only live once.....

Thats pretty cool, will definally have to get up to dublin to play one. Seems alot of boutique companies are putting out more market frendly amps. *waits for diezel*

but i'm used to all sizes at this stage.

    lol :D
