Duddy to fight Verno Phillips?

If Duddy can make 154 he should do it, and although it may be tough he probably can make 154 . Duddy is an average sized middleweight but would be huge down at Light-Middle .

Phillips was very lucky to get the decision over Spinks and Duddy I feel would be too strong for Phillips . Pavlik on the other hand would hand Duddy an awful beating .

TBH it just makes so much more sense if he can make 154 to go there rather than stay at Middleweight .

Andy Lee weighed in at 158 for the Vera fight. Is there any chance he could make 154 cos he'd be even bigger than Duddy at light middleweight.

When a fighter is getting rocked the way Andy was against Vera I'm not sure weight draining is the best idea .

Andy being with Emmanuel Steward is probably on a better diet than Duddy was(Pat Burns has said Duddy's diet was poor) aswell, so cutting the weight would probably be tougher for Andy and tbh with his frame I'd prefer to see him pack on a little bit of weight rather than cut more .
He looks kinda vulnerable at Middleweight already .

Agreed with big ears.. When you cut that much water weight, you get knocked out much easier. I've seen it time and time again in boxing & mma.

Duddy's latest interview states that he is expected to fight Mora next.
Now Pavlik is looking like facing Mora , but who knows ?

NOW .... more interestingly ,... Duddy's fight against Howe is free to view here :

He's meant to look quite good under new trainer.

I think fighting Phillips would be great for Duddy. He needs a title shot, but he's not ready for Pavlik. Sturm wouldn't have been a bad option to keep him at middleweight, but if his trainers see him at light-middleweight then he should at least try it. It would be great for Duddy to be IBF champion, I really think he can beat Phillips. He might be the only world champion at the moment with 10 losses but he's only been stopped once. Hopefully Duddy will make that twice.

Well Duddy won't stop him, thats for sure. I don't know when he was stopped but whoever stopped must have had some power. I don't know if this fight will happen anyways. Its just talk at this stage and there is a long way to go before it will happen.

Looks like its going ahead. Just needs a venue, date, and network.

"McLoughlin said that both camps have agreed to the fight and he is now working with Phillips’ promoter Artie Pellulo of Banner Promotions to get the fight sealed, with September or October of this year slated for the contest."

Let's be honest Duddy has a better chance at light middle.

Ronald Hearns and Deandre Latimore are in the running now for a shot at Williams. By the looks of things Latimore is looking to position himself for a shot by gaining ibf #1 status but they are looking to have Phillips-Hearns ina few months by the sounds of things.
Apparently Duddy / Duddys camp were not willing to agree to future options should he win the belt
