Polaroid sunglasses stockists in Cork?

    Does anyone know if anywhere in Cork stock Polaroid sunglasses? Or can anyone recommend any other brand that would have polarized lenses, UVA protection for less than €100?

    The only one I know of is Marco - I got a pair for 99 and I love them...They have stockists all over Ireland

    A lot of chemists sell "Polaroid" brand sunglasses (the manufacturers of Polaroid). I got my current pair in the chemist in the new Ballincolling shopping centre.

    As an aside, does anyone know if any designer sunglasses incorporate Polaroid? I can't recall seing any labelling to that effect, but I consider Polaroid essential for driving etc.

    Am I right in thinking that all Polaroid glasses have polarized lenses?

    I really fell for a pair of Ray-Bans a few weeks ago, €116 so not too pricey, figured they'd be a good pair of sunnies as Ray-Ban is fairly renowned. Couldn't believe it when the sales assistant told me they didn't have polarized lenses, the same model with polarized lenses would have been €184, so basically this pair were no better that standard fashion sunglasses. I would have presumed all Ray-Bans would have polarized lenses as standard.:confused:

    No most sunglasses just come with UV protection, you have to specifically ask for polarised lenses and only certain brands do them.

    Not to harp on but Marco are italian designer sunglasses with ploarised lenses and if I do say so myself, they look pretty good on me :p. Pity the weather tho is so miserable - I'm not getting to wear them as much as I would like :D

    For anyone who doesn't know how to check if a lens is polarised or not, hold the sunglasses up to a light source and rotate through 90 degrees. You should notice a definite reduction in the light intensity.
