I want to buy Vista Ultimate and have found it here, at quite a steal i think?
I just want to know what the difference is in the Upgrade version to the Retail version?

Is that a good price in the site i have linked?

If i get the Upgrade will it be just basically the license im buying so i could use a friends copy of vista to install or copy as my own?

purchasing an upgrade license means that in order to install it (or re-install it in the future) it will need to be installed on top of another existing approved OS with its own license.

However if you look at the microsoft site there are various licenses for the Upgrade version depending on what you are upgrading From. For example, from Home Premium costs $159.00 while from Home Basic cost $199.00

I would contact the vendor and verify from what OS that upgrade package is designed for. There is an upgrade version that will work for everything from windows 2000 and up as well. It is possible thats what youre being sold there, but it pays to check.
