So what other old action heroes can make a comeback?

Inspired really from the MacGyver thread. With Richard Dean Anderson ready to get kitted out again (complete with mullet hopefully), with Bruce Willis having done Die Hard 4, Stallone doing another Rambo and Harrison Ford doing another Indy, will any other older characters come out of retirement? What blasts from the past would you like to see return to the big screen?

Kurt Russell as Snake Plissken (Escape From New York)?
    Antonio Banderas as Zorro?
actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Geena Davis in a sequel to The Long Kiss Goodnight! :D

Good call. But there's already a remake in the works, wasn't Gerard Butler penned in for Plissken? Maybe Kurt Russell could star in another sequel though. Escape from San Diego!

Given Plisskens age - Escape from Miami Beach?

    Mike.

Escape From Earth was the plan, nothing even close to a first draft ever written but Russell will always be keen to do it I think, especially given his feelings on the remake.

Action heroes returning? Oh go on, just do another Lethal Weapon, nobodies gonna complain!

Also, though I know it's in the works, bring back Jack Ryan and film more Tom Clancy books in general, they're great trash!

Karl i would love to see that , but it would have to be the future after they fly to the cities... Maybe there is another "last v8"

    Anyway i think a film called "Braveheart 2000" could be a classic:rolleyes:

Commando 2 would get my vote. Or maybe a Streethawk movie. And bring back the Misfits of Science!!!

Would love to see another Robocop movie. More in the line of the first, the rest don't count.

The more I think about it the more sense it makes. A remake would be sweet.

    Classic film the first one:

Dick Jones: "Mr. Kenny, use your gun in a threatening manner."
[Kenny points the gun at Dick Jones]
Dick Jones [Exasperated]: "Point it at Ed 209!!"

    :pac:

isnt there a dirty harry film in the works? could be fun.

i love kurt meself so more snake would be great. even a sequel to "big trouble in little china"'d be fun :)

not REALLY an action hero but id love a "sledge hammer " update. it was such a good pisstake on the genre what with him sleeping with his gun. :)

ended up watching a few old episodes of "automan" on line recently and cant help thinking that could be updated fairly easily. christ knows computers are alot more intergrated into generally society now. it was kinda fun to see walter and him merge and beat up bad guys :)

but if i had cart blanche bring back "the greatest american hero" go ralph! :)

Not with Clint Eastwood - he personally stomped on that rumor.

Another idea I have: after Leon (The Professional) it seemed that Matilda (Natalie Portman) was heading for a normal life... but what if, all these years later, her past reached out and touched her..? :pac:

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

    Lethal Weapon 5

    A Team (maybe happening http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0429493/ )

Mission Impossible TV Series (not another Tom Cruise movie)

    Demolition Man 2, perhaps?

    A Die Hard that wasn't child-friendly?

    Commando 2, bring Arnie back.....boo!!

Glenroe, the gritty actioner based on the hit Irish TV Show. With Christian Bale, Brendan Gleeson, and Ed Norton starring and Paul Verhoven directing (Definitely rated 18's, then!)

Steven Seagul in another decent flick (Ha ha ha....*slaps knee*)

    i can see it now!

the plot will be built around notorious drug runner "miley" and his moll "biddy" who run the biggest magic mushroom running operation in the whole of europe after rubbing out "dinny" , mileys own father, in a hostile take over !

unknown to them dinnys illegetimate son, in the shape of colin farrel, comes back to glenroe...
    .

    ..... for REVENGE !
