Hello, I want to get a laptop that's nice and small and portable. It doesn't have to be massively powerful and I'm hoping to keep the price under €500. Does anyone know a good place for buying such a laptop? Dell doesn't seem to do anything smaller than a 15.4 screen (except for one €800+ model).

You see that's the problem - to get a small (i.e. less than 15") screen, you will have to pay extra.

Have a look at the Asus EEE laptop.

+1 for the eeePC although the 7" screen is fairly tight. The new 9" version should fit the bill nicely though.

There's also this one for under 280 sterling. Wouldn't expect top quality for this price though.

dont know much about the eeePC but its getting a lot of hype. HP despite not covering my screen damage (my own fault -_-) are actually very nice laptops and they have plenty of 12" models to pick and match from, on the US site at least. Not sure about the UK.
