Organizing Web Development Sites

    Lads just wondering where ye put ye're sites that ye're working on?
    What about php development and mysql, how do you install these on the apple? i.e. what way do ye favour for all this set up?

    Basic version of MAMP is quite nice ...

    I ran into a number of issues with XAMPP on the mac so I'd steer clear of that


    edit:

    I use these cus its easy its quick to get up and running with it... if you need more control obviously you can go a different route and install it all yourself

    For me though ... MAMP (Mac Apache Mysql PHP ... with phpmyadmin ... preinstalled and a few other bits) is great ..

    well as I said ... it depends on the amount of control you require


    What I've always liked about the Wamp / Mamp / Xampp style set ups ... is that you're up and running just like that ...

    If you require more control on your server ... maybe think about installing a VM .... taking a snapshot of it so that if you ever do something bad you can revert ... but thats just an idea and may be over kill depending on your needs
