i've got a flight out of dublin with ryanair tomorrow morning, 0730. need to leave the car in the long term and get partner and two kids to check-in.

what time would you want to be leaving the car in long term parking at to make a stress free event of checking in and making the flight in a timely fashion?

and please don't say 2200 tonite, hahahaha

6am should be ample enough time to arrive at the long term car park

but to be on the safe side go for 5 30 its quite busy there at the moment ;)

I'd agree with 5:30, I'd say 6 if it was just you and the missus but with two kids I'd add the extra half hour so you can take your time.

Why don't you check in online?

i have seat allocations because of the kids travelling with us. is this the same thing? or should i check in and just do a baggage drop, if thats the way it works.

to be totally honest, i have only flown once with ryanair in the last 20 years. i've done 100s of trips with aer lingus and british midland and others in and out of dublin, but never liked the ryanair thing so i am a little disadvantaged. any help is much appreciated

and with regard to baggage. i will be carrying hand baggage with a laptop, ipod, that type of thing. it will be heavy enough. is this included in my 15kgs or is hand baggage different

Hand luggage is different. You have 15kgs in your checked bags and another 10kgs in your carry on bags.

Also in case you did'nt know, you cant balance the checked weight between you ie 4 people can checkin 4 bags with 15kg each but if you try to checkin 2 bags with 30 kgs each you'll be charged (alot) extra. Just said I'd say it coz your travelling with kids so the natural thing to do is throw their stuff in your bags but just make sure no bag exceeds the 15kgs and you'll be fine.

thanks on the carry on bags. L has the bags sorted into 4 different light ones.

i swear young lads are starting to travel with more stuff than their Mam

seemingly you can't check in online if you have baggage in the hold

Alright well there is a bus that goes straight from the car park to the airport so that's handy. Then I'd say 5 or half 5.

Meh, don't use the airport parking, use Quickpark which is a few minutes from the departures area on their shuttle bus which goes every 15 mins or so. www.quickpark.ie

And it's only 7.50 a day...a good bit cheaper than the airport parking!
