Surprisingly, no nomination for Desparate Housewives!

I really hope Flight Of The Conchords wins best comedy!! Definitely the funniest show on TV at the mo.
Family Guy and Curb Your Enthusiasm are really good too.
I don't like Entourage or Ugly Betty, haven't seen the rest of them.

Drama - meh, don't care as long as it's not :
Lost (got boring after the 2nd season, plus Jack is probably TV's most annoying character),

Grey's Anatomy (Ellen Pompeo can't act to save her life. Nor can the whiny gay guy)

or The Tudors (badly acted trash).

Any of the other 7 can win because never seen any of 'em!

Yeah, that's a damn shame!

Predicting these 5 will be in the final vote:
    Outstanding Comedy Series Finalists
    • Curb Your Enthusiasm
    • Flight of the Conchords
    • The Office
    • 30 Rock
    • Ugly Betty

    Outstanding Drama Series Finalists
    • Damages
    • Lost
    • Mad Men
    • The Tudors
    • The Wire

Surprise surprise, the best show of the year, Breaking Bad, didn't make the grade.

The Emmy's have long been a joke, tbh. Any awards ceremony that hands out acolades to Two & A Half men doesn't deserve to be taken seriously.

The Wire wont make the last 5,despite it being the best tv show ever made it still wont get the recognition it deserves.

Too true. It hasn't a hope in hell of making the final noms.

I don't know... the fact that it ended this year, it may finally get some recognition.

Might be a bit optimistic of me but I could see it happening.

Haha! I was referring more to it's popularity than the quality of the show.
Having said that, I quite like Desparate Housewives. Certainly funnier than Ugly Betty and the acting is way better than the shite in The Tudors and Grey's Anatomy.

I think Ellen Pompeo has a good chance of a best actress drama nomination for Series 4 plus maybe Justin Chambers for best supporting actor drama for Grey's Anatomy.

The Wire - one of the best shows on TV is always overlooked

    The Office
    Pushing Daisies
    30 Rock
    Two and a Half Men
    Ugly Betty
    Weeds

I think that's a pretty poor line-up. I'm a big fan of Curb but I think the recent season was poorer than previous ones. As for Family Guy, another show I'm a fan of but while I felt it started superbly I also felt by the end of the series it was dire. The last episode of Family Guy's latest series in particular was so bad I stopped watching it halfway through. Not a fan of the others.

I must say I think it is a DISGRACE that South Park is not a finalist as I feel the writing is funnier than ever and some of the latest episodes were just outstanding. Ectoplasm!
    Outstanding Drama Series Finalists
    Boston Legal
    Damages
    Dexter
    Friday Night Lights
    Grey’s Anatomy
    House
    Lost
    Mad Men

    The Wire

The only one out of those shows I watch is Lost so I hope it wins.

South Park still scares people, so its not a realistic awards winner.

Hope Lost wins, its season 4 was just brilliant[espically when compared to its season 3].

In the comedy list, anyone notice 7 of the shows are awful , with only Entourage, The Office and Weeds having some merit? Would have liked to see South Park[but as mentioned won't happen] and How I Met Your Mother[Barney is one of the greatest sitcom characters ever].

Toss between Conchords and The Office for comedy for me (This series of Entourage and 30 Rock aren't as good as previous years). The Wire has to get drama. Although Lost was brilliant this year, The Wire has been snubbed for too many a year, especially considering it is arguably a more well formed, written and acted series than The Sopranos.

I thiink the comedy line up is pretty decent, mainly because Ive seen them all except Two and a Half Man and Ugly Betty. Family Guy has been awful for a few years now, South Park is infinitely better. Hopefully either Curb, Entourage or Weeds win.

The drama is tougher to call. Obviously the Wire deserves to win cos it better than anything else else. Ever. But Lost has been great this year, as have House and Dexter, and Mad Men is quality too. I just hope some shìt like Greys Anatomy doesn't win!

I dont want Family guy to win. I'm getting a bit sick of it. I'd love to see The Office win. I've been watching it lately and it's hilarious.

The list of finalists for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series at this year's Primetime Emmy Awards has unofficially been obtained by GoldDerby.com, and the big news is that Sarah Silverman is in the running, while Teri Hatcher is the sole Housewife left in the cold.

The reported list of contenders is as follows:

    Christina Applegate, Samantha Who?
    Marcia Cross, Desperate Housewives
    America Ferrera, Ugly Betty
    Tina Fey, 30 Rock
    Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies
    Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives
    Eva Longoria Parker, Desperate Housewives
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, New Adventures of Old Christine

Tom Oh! and his GoldDerby.com buds have been busy, busy. On the heels of flagging the semifinalists in the Supporting Actor in a Drama and Lead Actress in a Comedy Emmy races, they now have sussed out the short (though not shortest) list for Supporting Actress in a Drama... and Friday Night Lights fave Connie Britton ain't on it. Britton vied in the lead category last year and in doing so netted a top 10 nod, yet this time around she put herself up for supporting. And came up with nada, sadly.

    The 10 semifinalists are:

Jane Alexander, Tell Me You Love Me
    Candice Bergen, Boston Legal
    Rose Byrne, Damages
    Jill Clayburgh, Dirty Sexy Money
    Sharon Gless, Burn Notice
    Rachel Griffiths, Brothers & Sisters
    Christina Hendricks, Mad Men
    S. Epatha Merkerson, Law & Order
    Sandra Oh, Grey's Anatomy
    Dianne Wiest, In Treatment
    Chandra Wilson, Grey's Anatomy
    Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds
Sarah Silverman, The Sarah Silverman Program

Looks like David Simon was right - their attention span is too small for this as you cannot judge it one episode (which is the typical manner in which these awards are run). I think I'll just ignore the awards ceremony this year because by ignoring one of the mostly highly-praised shows ever, they've shown how much of a farce it is.

    Probst took home the Emmy

All good presenters in their own right, but I think shows like the Emmys and Oscars need presenters with a sharp wit to make them interesting.

Best presenter was Ricky Gervais. He is hilarious.

He finally got his Emmy back from Steve Carrell.

Glenn Close was very rude (she shouted at Ugly Betty's America Ferrera to hold her award while she gave her speech)

As said before so happy Bryan Cranston won

It's up there with 'Everyone loves Raymond' and 'King of Queens' as US comedies that lose all value in the journey across the Atlantic.

Nah, 'King of Queens' and 'Everybody Loves Raymond' (to a lesser extent) are well written and intelligent comedies IMO.

Two And A Half Men is sloppy lowest denominator comedy!
