Can you split an AVI file so audio and video are on there own ?

    My mate has a video of a concert and wants to just have the audio to put on his iPod... It's in AVI format. Can you split it up ?

    Not sure if you can get a program to rip it directly, but in Audacity you can leave the gig playing and then just hit record in the program (making sure the input is from the machine and not the mic). The only way I know how to do it to be honest. It's like recording your favorite song off the radio.....painful!


    EDIT: Ooh, also make sure you switch your window sounds off. As any beep from msn or error message warning will be picked up too. That is all.

    yes Crusoft ultimate platnum will do that for you. I got it cost €50 , well worth it as will convert any dvd or video file to any format you want.

    I like Winff ( free ), great for getting music only of youtube,dvd's, other video files etc.
