Hey, does anyone know how you go about having certain exams rechecked? I ended up with a 2.2 but Iv got a 59% average so would love to have it pulled up to 60% to get a 2.1 ;) Should I contact the registry for forms or can you apply online? I saw the appeals section of the registry website, however from what I read that seems to relate to people who have failed a module and want it to be re-checked because extenuating circumstances were'nt considered, etc, or is this the way all requests to have examinations re-marked are done? Thanks

Flex, you are using the terms re-marked and re-checked interchangeably here. They mean two very different thing. A re-check means someone ‘checks’ the mark awarded were added up correctly, ie. the maths is good. A re-mark means someone grades the complete examination script for a second time.
A re-check shouldn’t be required, as you can just ask your lecturer to view the script and you will soon see for yourself if the numbers add up. But either way, a re-check is possible.
A re-marking however, is a totally different issue. There is no system for re-marking in DCU. The only mechanism that exists in that respect is an appeal. The full appeals procedure is on the DCU web, but you better be really sure of your case before you proceed, otherwise your just throwing money away.

Oh, well I want to have them re-marked in that case. Thanks very much for the reply
