Oil leak mystery

    got car valeted yesterday but still wet inside today - set air conditioning to high to dry interior and left engine running for 20 mins - big leak of oil from engine?????? Any ideas????

    I would say the leak has nothing to do with the a/c. maybe you have a long standing oil leak but only when the engine is running. That way you would never have noticed it, but with the car standing you have seen it.

    If the leak was onto concrete, the oil can spread out a lot and look like lots of oil but is actually not much. Generally these leaks are from not fully tightened oil filter or sump plug.

    Look under the car if there is oil streaked underneath the floorpan, then you have a leak that only leaks under pressure.

    are you definately sure its oil. if you had the aircon running it my be condensation dripping from the unit.

    smells like oil and patch still on cobblelock this morning, no more drips from underside of engine. Will have to bring to garage today , thought there might have been a simple explanation/solution:(
