Is freesat really worth it at the moment?

When you compare what is available on freeview to what is available on freesat is it really worth going out and buying decoders at the moment. When the likes of Dave, Virgin one, five channels come on board then it may be worth it?

I think satellite is more practical. Why should we rely on the DTT service from another juristiction? ;) Many people subscribe to Sky in this country and so already have dishes aligned to 28.2/28.5 deg SSE. Many others already have a FTA (or FTV) system so installing another receiver/replacing an existing one for what is supposed to be a better service is almost effortless. More bandwidth on satellite, decent EPG on Freesat, HD on Freesat before DTT.

Like you've said, more channels are due to join the line up and this will make Freesat more attractive.

No my jist was that people that already have a skybox have to fork out another few quid for another digital box for itv HD? Sky i think is way over priced for a few channels i may well watch (Sky one, discoverys etc) and im not paying 20e a month for those.

But yes when other channels join freesat it will be more viable option. Its a shame all these different systems cant be compatible with each other? I have a 3rd party sat reciever so have a great choice of channels and can also put my channels in the order i want.

Other people dont have this luxury.
