If you go to amazon.ie you get forwarded to amazon.co.uk.... I have had an account there for years now and only ever ran into a problem when ordering gadgets. however, Monday I went to buy a new book and decided to throw in a PC game for myself while I was at it, only to discover AT THE CHECKOUT that they cant ship the game to Ireland.

I was p*ssed. I had spent ages reading reviews and checking specs to ensure that the game was what I wanted and then I find out in the second step at teh checkout that I cant have it delivered. I emailed amazon amazon to let them know that I wasnt impressed. surely a notification on an item before I bother reading the blurb and reviews could help ? I log in with an irish account with irish delivery addresses and my landing page is the .ie portal to the site. I got the following reply (which I appreciate but I'm still not buying from amazon again until they fix this)

synopsis: Only items bought in the marketplace section of the website can be sent to Ireland (from amazon or third party). Otherwise, its books and dvds only.

What kind of crap is that? Does it say why they won't ship software to Ireland, is there some reason for it? Seems bizarre to me.

For games, try http://www.asda-entertainment.co.uk/asda/home.dept good prices, and they do deliver to Ireland.

I've no idea but it is recent enough. I bought games from amazon before with no bothers whatsoever!

Contact the seller, i was trying to buy a SNES on Amazon recently but the sellers have set as default the option not to ship abroad.

However if you contact them they might agree to ship to you so long as you pay the postage incurred.

    I got my SNES!

It's actually not recent afaik. I too have bought games from Amazon (BF2 + SF) a couple of years ago but a month or two later I got the same spiel as you.

WEEE shouldn't affect games though. In fact, the Producer Recycling Fund has been dropped on all smaller electronics and electrics some weeks ago
