The Bilderburg group are not your normal group of nutters. They are made up of our leaders. Perhaps you should educate yourself.

That a big enough hint for you?

I don't know really, part of me thinks its paranoia but then there is a huge amount of evidence to suggest there is something in it. The European Union, (I'm pro Europe by the way) and this new North American Union between Mexico, US and Canada whiffs of NWO to me!!!

There are no big conspiracy theories. They're not aliens or lizards, they're not the children of Jesus or any of that ****.

There are lots of small conspiracies though, and they're all about money.

The rich will always get together to work out more ways to make more money.

Well if you are more convinced by a site with links to Jim Corrand the NWO, Coir and Youth Defence then there is not much more to say on the matter I suppose.

I think the formation of a New World Order is a pretty lofty goal myself. How much bigger can you get?

Did you want an opnion or did you just want people to agree with you? If so then perhaps you need to rephrase your question.

So you think the people who run that website site and all the other sites that they link to down the leff hand side are reasonable folk?

And why isn't this thread in the conspiracy theories forum?

Ant why isn't this thread in the conspiracy theories forum?

Because conspiracy theories are about made up stuff. The Bilderberg group is real and to distrust their motives is reasonable, not x-files crap.

Yep they did a bang up job of embedding Michael McDowell into the Irish political system forever.

I find the whole concept of the Group and its secrecy rather distasteful myself, but I draw the line just about there.

This discussion definitely belongs in the conspiracy theories forum.

If you were to ask me if I believe that the CIA are responsible for some Human rights abuses, for example I would probably agree.

If you asked me do I think they organised 9-11 for example, then I would obviously say no.

we already have a few threads on this in the CT Forum

Bildeberg is a Very Real organisation, if theres nothing illegal or underhanded going on then why so much secrecy?

the ones to worry about tho are an organisation called Bohemian Grove, these are the real kingmakers

http://blog.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/06/09/obama_adviser_faces_scrutiny_o.html (washington post pack of nutters!)

    http://canadafreepress.com/index.php/article/3395 (canada free press loopers!)

    http://www.oldthinkernews.com/Articles/oldthinker%20news/hillary_clinton.htm

    http://www.jonesreport.com/articles/091107_hillary_denies.html

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bilderberg_Group

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Bilderberg_attendees (the guest list)

and so on and so on and so nothing to concern yourselves with. Now I wonder who put the notion out there that anybody looking into their activities can only be conspiracy theorists?

Michael McDowell joined em after being voted out of his seat interesting to watch what the future holds for the former minister of misery

OK so the most powerful people in the world have a wee get together (behind closed doors) to discuss how they (a tiny elite) should manipulate global political and economic activities to suit their ambitions is clearly nothing new but should that make it ok?? I like to think some day politics will be done similar to courts in that it must be seen to be done.

The Bilderburg group are not your normal group of nutters. They are made up of our leaders. Perhaps you should educate yourself.

People who bang on about Bilderberg and the NWO are usually nerdy grown-up kids that read a lot of comics and sci-fi in their youth, attempting to make the world more exciting than it really is.

Who runs the world? International bankers, hedge fund managers, the odd national government and the boards of multinational corporations? Absolutely. Is there something shadowy, secretive, and cloak-and-dagger about this? Sure. What it is not, however, is particularly exciting. The world has always been and always will be, run for the benefit of the rich and the powerful. Are you surprised that some of em get together to have a little chat every once in a while?

Conspiracy theorists do actually get things right once in a while, but in their attempt to find one, big unified "them" that is responsible for all the bad stuff in the world, they are always fleeing from reality (And from political relevance).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 369 ✭✭jellybeans

I beg to differ, Im grown up but I wasn't some nerdy teenage kid looking to make the world more exciting. Im interested because I like to be informed about the world Im living in and I don't want to be spoon fed and led by a group of politicians who have proven they are not always working in the best interest of the people who elected them.

And good on you, that's a noble attitude.

And do you know what the best way to please those corrupt politicians and captains of industry is? Become a conspiracy theorist. They love it when you do that, cause you are no longer a threat to them.

Im more anti-globalisation, more mistrustful of corporations and all the rest than most, but as soon as you start thinking the world is run by a shadowy cabal in a smoky room you're off the radar. Its only moments before you start frothing about the Illuminati, and The Protocols of the Elders of Zion.

The world is largely run by nobody: It's mostly chaos: That's the problem: Millions of people chasing the numbers jumping up and down on the New York stock exchange, with the poor largley feeling the bumps. If you've got a better way to run the world, we'd all love to hear it (really), but for now, if you really care: Become an activist: Help the poor, work for an aid agency, lobby governments to change laws on any number of issues: Otherwise you're just one more hut-job in a flak jacket to 'them'.

well ahem according to you that is. How can you be so sure that there is no truth in any of this. What is it that makes you so fully certain that it's mere fantasy? So... do you think that the false intelligence about WMD's was accidental or deliberate? do you think that this was to mislead the population so that the Bush administration would get the backing to invade Iraq? why do you think they really wanted to invade Iraq? wsa it out of the goodness or their hearts so that the poor Iraqi civilians, of which the Americans themselves have killed 665,000, could be liberated? I think not considering Donald Rumsfeld knew all about what was going on in Iraq in the 80's and it didn't get in the way of US-Iraqi relations then.
