Footwear recommendation for a bloke

    Right guys (and gals)

    I'm looking to get a new pair of fairly casual shoes/runners that can be worn everyday, generally with jeans. I have a newish pair of converse so don't want another pair of a similar style.

    All I can seem to find are fugly shoes. Any suggestions? I'm based in dublin btw.

    Caterpillar do quite a nice range of casual shoes that are kind of a cross between shoes and runners. Debenhams stock them.

    My OH Loves the footwear in River Island, he got a really nice pair of casual shoes there recently, I think this is them http://xml.riverisland.com/flash/content.php they also have nice footwear that is more in the trainer/sneaker camp.

    D'oh, that link only brings you to the home page! The ones I was trying to show where item no 222230, they are on the last page of the mens footwear, they are a brown shoe with a velcro strap.

    my OH made a transition from converse recently to a pair of Merrill.. cross between runners and shoes..they look great and are tough and hardwearing:)dont look too smart but are def a shoe over a runner..got them in schuh..but check out the merrill website for styles
