So I've heard a lot about this recession we seem to be heading into, and apparently it'll be like the 80s all over again.

So does that mean shoulder-pads will be back in? Will my big hair finally be accepted as cool?

    Is 80s in now?

Oh excellent, I've been waiting for the oppurtunity to match my eyeshadow with my clothing!

Only problem is, none of us will be able to afford new eyeshadow or clothing! Could this be the end of the Fashion and Appearance forum???

    Well I wasn't there :(

So clearly we'll just have to cut out the bad bits!

On a slightly more serious note: what do you think the trend of buying fashion will be? Will people abandon cheap places like Pennys in favour of more expensive but ultimately longer-lasting clothes, or will the Brown Thomases of this world feel the hit as people tighten their D&G belts?

    Nope, it just fell out.

I've had my PLO scarf in storage since 1987...this could be it's first winter to see the light of day!

But just say No to espadrilles and stone-wash.

I think the first places to feel the pinch will be all the towns within 2 hours drive of the North, including Dublin. My sister was in Newry on Saturday and said it was choc full of Southern Reg cars and she especially couldn't believe the amount of D reg cars. Even the supermarkets will feel is as people have cottoned on to how much cheaper it is to shop in the North.
