maybe im not even an amateur i got an a1 in leaving cert english and have not studied it for 3 years,
but how would i go about getting an article published?
do i send it into each of the newspapers and websites individually or is there some sort of middle-man that i go to,
I don't expect to get paid or even published but would love to.

maybe im not even an amateur .
    You are
i got an a1 in leaving cert english .
So what? The people I know who did journalism having got an A1 in English never really worked in the profession. Being able to write a flowery essay is not help if you're going to write an article.
but how would i go about getting an article published?

Come up with an idea, make sure it hasn't been published. In particular most newspapers love human interest stories. Then pick the newspaper or magazine you think is most appropriate, find out who the relevant section editor is and ring them and offer the piece. Have some photo suggestions in mind. Ask how much you'll be paid per word or for the piece. Then if they say no, move to next paper on your list.

I've had a fair few articles published down my way ... I just made contact with the editors as previously posted here and we took it from there ... It started with my sending in a few articles and they chose which would be published. I just done it for a hobby really; didn't want anything out of it
