New Drama this autumn coming from TV3 is a bilingual series about a Gealscoil.

It is part funded by the licence fee through the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland's (BCI) Sound and Vision Fund which is provided to them by RTE via the licence fee.

Surely TV3 should start making programming without the help of the Licence Fee. :) Surely this show is more suited to TG4.

This is Ireland's first Home produced Drama serial to be produced and shown by an Independent Broadcaster, TV3 is Ireland's second most watch TV channel, expect TV3 to talk and talk about this series until late 2018 when they repeat it on their 20th birthday, TV3 earns on average 60,000,000 euro each year and has had to resort to making Public Service Programming with public money.

At least it shows Tv3 are trying, they seem to be doing more tv shows themselves instead of just simulcasting ITV...

Fair play to TV3. This fella that they've gotten from Channel 4, Ben Frow to commission new programmes seems to have given TV3 a new lease of life - Dirty Money, Diary Of A ...., inside And Out, Undercover ireland, grassroots of the gaa, nobody knows jarleth regan, and nightly news with vincent browne have all been produced over the last few months, plus they have the apprentice coming soon.

Lets not fault them on their lack of irish programming in the past - and look towards what they can offer in the near future....

Ben Frow is their Director of Programming but I am sure that Fintan McGuire Head of Commissioning and Andrew Hanlon Head of News and Information (The guy behind Nightly News and Expose, both of which replaced the News) have alot more to do with their new shows.
Dirty Money, Diary Of A ...., Undercover ireland, grassroots of the gaa, nobody knows jarleth regan

All funded by the License Fee through the broadcast fund, they're supposed to be a commercial TV service not a public service broadcaster.

Most news and sports shows are not funded by the Commission. Inside and Out and I am sure the Apprentice do/will not use the License fee.

Too little, too late, plenty of money to do more.
