I have a good few DVDs and books I don't use anymore and I'm thinking of selling them on ebay. I'm wondering about postage, what envelopes should I use, and should i use An Post or some other service?
    Thanks

I usually use jiffy bags from An Post or Easons and then An Post to send.
Depending on value of item you can send registered.

What you charge for postage can include the cost for postage/packaging, or not depending on how generous you feel. You can also have an option, if registered it'll cost a bit more.

I would stick with adverts.ie if I was you

ebay and paypal will take a large chunk of your sale money. Also you are obliged to send by recorded post, and IMO the other person is more likely to be a scammer on ebay.

With adverts there is clearer communication and fast easier delivery, no fees, many trade on similar ideas, i.e. other users confirming they are sound. People can transfer money right to your account instantly and have discs the next day with cheap postage.

You also get a higher price since it sort of works in reverse, i.e. you offer at a high price and people will offer lower ones then more will offer more.

If you use the UK site to list your DVDs, it has pre-filled info that automatically enters a stock photo and a description of the DVD if you enter the EAN number in the form. The .ie site doesn't have this at the moment.

The 2nd hand DVD market is very bad, you will not get much for them by the time ebay & paypal take their cut as well as posting the thing.
