RTE/TV3 Terrestrial Reception in Waterford City

Switching from NTHell to Sky and looking for a suitable antenna to pick up RTE 1&2 and TV3 for the two TVs we have that wont have sky sub's.

I am considering two options, the first is just to get an indoor aeriel for the TV's that wont have a Sky sub (which would be the ones in the parents room, my brothers and my sisters). The second option is to have a proper outdoor aeriel fitted, and route the signal along the internal wiring that would have been used for NTL.

Would indoor aeriels be sufficient to get RTE and TV3? Or is an outdoor aeriel necessery for adequate reception?

no you will really need an out door aerial for the Waterford area. I' m in Tramore & RTE without an aerial is awful .

At least the chimney is accessable without a ladder, so I could always mount it on that. What antenna(s) would I need for the four Irish channels.. is Mt Leinster DTT receivable from the city?

Yes you can. However you will need an aeial for VHF and another for UHF any local installer will tell which types are best for the city. I'm sure it's the same as Tramore.
