    Hello all,

I am just starting out tryin to understand all this satellite stuff. I want to have TV in three rooms they will all have the ability to watch one channel and record another.

Is it OK to have 1 LNB and split this up onto 6 lines?

Reading the threads it says you shouldn't do this, I don't understand why?

    Thanks for the help,
    Cormac

Or an Octo LNB, since you've 6 prospective locations.

Or indeed a Quattro LNB fed into a Multiswitch.

An LNB has 4 states - Horizontal High, Horizontal Low, Vertical High, Vertical Low. It can only be in one state at a time, depending on the frequency paramaters of the channel you're watching. Because of this, it's not possible to properly split an LNB.

    Hi,

I think I understand more now about LNB's. I'm going to go with the Quattro LNB fed into a Multiswitch. Next thing now is PC cards. But I will open a new thread on this.

    Thanks for the help,
    Cormac
