Golf Clubs

    Hi,

I have recently taken up golf, I bought a nice set of clubs on eBay. I have been out a few times on pitch n putt courses and the driving range.

I am looking to join a club, somewhere reasonably priced and not the thousands upon thousands in joining fees.

I had a look at Grange Castle and Elm Green, both seem nice. Does anyone know of after others? The two courses in the Citywest Hotel look nice, I checked their memebership page and it says no fee's or waiting list, which sounds a bit too good to be true, is this accurate?

    http://www.citywesthotel.com/site/golf_membership.aspx

    Thanks for your help.

    yeah its true

citywest just work on an anual fee basis. they have three packages as they have two courses. its not a bad deal.

Yeah I am considering looking into a bit more, would need to get some lessons first (I am sure you can get some there). I was up there a few weeks back, the weather was great and it looked a smashing place.

My two local courses would be Lucan County and the Hermitage

    Thanks for that!

Just be aware that at Citiwest you still pay a green fee( all be it at a reduced rate) each time you play.

That is only if you get the lowest option

I joined both courses and don't pay any green fee... I have played the lakes course once as much prefare the championship course..

It's grand to get your handicap and play a bit... There is no practise facility which is a killer so I had to join the academy for that...

What prices are you talking for joining? And also, what's the green fees like if you take the lowest option?
