From the two finest writers and directors currently working in Hollywood (alongside Uwe Boll) - Jason Friedberg & Aaron Seltzer (who previously directed the Emmy award winning 'Meet The Spartans', not to mention the Oscar winning 'Date Movie', Peabody award winning 'Epic Movie' and the future multiple award winning upcoming '<insert random word here> Movie') comes their newest bundle of comedy gold: Disaster Movie'.



I know, I know what you're thinking - this is hot on the heels of their previous film - the critically acclaimed and adored by audiences everywhere 'Meet The Spartans' - how can they possibly get the time to write this? Well, they have been working tirelessly to cram the tit : boner joke ratio into their script to a previously unheard of level.

And now we get the first trailer of the new film and it does look as promised.. to be packed full of hilarious pop references fresh from the world of cinema. Oh, Friedberg and Seltzer... ye truly are the King of Kings!

I loved scary movie, not another teenage movie and some of the other stuff but it feels they just go over the same crap again and again now, waiting for a few movies to come out and then take the pi$$, badly.

Sigh. It'll be a fine day when these idiots finally run out of "genres" to 'parody' (and by parody I mean take a film, remake all the scenes extremely poorly with lowest common denominator pop culture references / slapstick stupidity, and **** it out into cinemas). Hopefully they won't sink as low as 'Italian Neo-Realist Movie' though.

I tried to watch meet the spartans but I actually killed myself half way through it. I'd rather watch 2 Girls, 1 Cup on repeat that sit through it again

This one doesn't look like its parodying Disaster movies, all I saw was horrible "parodies" of recent cinema releases. These guys don't know how to make spoofs.

The last good spoof was "Not another teen movie", seriously

I've seen others say on threads around here that there were queues out the door in certain cinemas. I was kind of hoping they were taking the piss but i'm not so sure.

Now Hollywood must be absolutely crawling with aspiring writers of all types, it must be incredibly competitive yet somehow these two, obviously talentless hacks, have got these jobs.

It would seem that these films are making tidy profits. They are quick an cheap to make (as you can probably guess by looking at them) and there is a ready market for them. Once these films stop turning profit they'll stop making them but it doesn't appear to be happening. Sadly, there are many people out there who enjoy this brand of 'humor' which involves 'referencing' recent films (just not in a clever way), overuse of toilet humor and of course break dancing (which I'm guessing someone discovered several years ago and declared it hilarious). And let's not forget the people who suffer from morbid curiosity and have more money than sense.
So in other words, I blame society.

Disaster movie was the worst movie ever, the 20 minutes i was able to stomoch it was extremely painful, I cant think of any movie as bad (even snakes on a place)

This movie was so bad that it put me in an extremely bad form, I cant believe anybody could watch this piece of ****. Yes Aeroplane and a few other spoofs such as naked gun and hot shots are good but oh my god disaster movie is painful

I remember watching the trailer for the combacks or something like that and laughing at a few parts of it. I see it was then released over here as Sports Movie and immediately became unfunny
