Online (Cold) Reading for 6th

???

Okay so I'll give this in an 'impressions' sorta way.

Name and Identity

I get the feeling you have a... I would say common but that's a bit harsh... name. The vibrations striking me remind me of the church, of religon... I will go out on a limb and say it is an aposol's name... Mark? Mathew maybe?

I get the impression that you are a very independant person. You set yourself aside and don't tend to bend to peer pressure, unless that bending is in a direction you want (ahh go on, have another drink!).

I would say that on the whole you are a rather quiet, considering person but that when the circumstances are right you cab really let go and be at the heart of the party!

I get a sense that you often give yourself a hard time over mistakes and shortcomings that other people around you barely, if even, notice. I think that maybe this self critical side has held you back on more than one occasion?

Well it is mark but as I've said its comon enough knowledge on here, I get called it a fair bit. As for being a common name? I dont know too many Marks but maybe thats just me?

I wouldnt say I am independent, while I know my own mind I do like to surround myself with people who I trust and can work with. I work better as part of a unit than on my own.

While I'm capable of being quiet it is far from my natural state. i'm loud, whether thats happy loud or angry loud depends on the time of the day.

I dont give myself a hard time about anything and would go as far as to say I barely recognise any shortcoming if infact I have any. I'm very aware of just how great I am and that is not a false face.

I never worry about cash probably because I have everything I need/want. Even when work is slow I dont worry for more than a few minutes before I realise that I've plenty to fall back on and have great support from those close to me.

I've had a few readings and this is usually the area were I get most impressed. My "lovelife" is far from typical and I'm always amazed at how they pick up on it. I am 30 and have been with my wife since I was 15. As for supportive, my wife is almost saint-like. With a 3 year old and an 11 month old she still more than supports me running around the country in the dark with 4 other guys! Even with a risky project like the Dublin Paranormal Convention which takes up alot of my time she is right behind me with ideas and an ear whenever I need it.

The language you used was great, very typical of that used by a few of the more traditional readers I've seen or know. Obviously the banter is enough for some people and they hear the details as they want to hear them and fit them to there lives but I'm doing this long enough

I'd been to great readers and rubbish ones and obviously I know not everyone is genuine. Its the ones who are just too accurate that make me believe that there is something more than cold reading going on.

Again fair play for giving it a go.

Gotta say this is a pretty solid psychic reading. The more I read it the better it gets.
Nice and general and throwing in the disguised contradictions were genius.
Took a bit of a risk with the love life though, a good psychic never give clear figures like 3-4 years. Much too specific.

Thing is though you can't actually cold read on the internet, needs to be done in person to get the good results 6th is talking about.

I took a guess on the 3 to 4 years cause that's a fairly average length for a relationship. Gave a shortish figure and 'a while' so covered 15 years right up to two or so! Also if you hit with it it's much more impressive. It's better to run with a guess that'll be glossed over than say, she's been around a short while or a long while!!! Read the book dammit!!! That's where most of my stuff comes from!

I wonder though, is cold reading less effective when the person knows that they are being read? I would have thought that the subjects actual belief in the phsychic's paranormal abilities play a big part in the effect in that they are less likely to be skeptical of errors.

Yes it's much less effective. They are less willing to make things fit. Also, over the net it is difficult to do much 'reading'. For example, with the wife thing where I sensed conflict. If in a real reading I would have said straight off

'Well I can only pass on what the cards tell me, I'm only a vessel. It's nothing major, just a little sense of... I dunno... resentment is way too strong... Maybe you should just talk to her about it, to double check. You do have a young child and he might be giving her trouble when your messing around in old buildings.'
