Big plates?

    Hey all,

I do most of my lifts at home in the shed or out the back garden. I have a problem though, I'm using dinky York plastic case cement-filled weights. I'm running out of space for these plates on my bar.

So, I'm looking to buy heavier plates - a few 5, 10 or 20 kilo plates - but also ones with a bit of diameter on them!! My current ones mean I'm starting really low on deadlifts, and it's annoying me!

Are these ones from Irish-lifting decent size?

I was just recommending them in another thread!

I have the 20kg ones. Just checked and the centre of my bar is 7"/180mm off the ground. Put them on mats and it raises them higher and cushions the drops between reps. The paint job is good on them too, better than the black argos york ones which have rusted on me.

    They are tri grip plates

So bigger diameter than my other solid 20kg plates. They are also good for lunges and other work, you can use the handles sort of like a kettlebell, they can swing flush by your side.

Delivery was surprisingly cheap too, if you email Mickk you might be able to arrange to pick them up in his gym, but I would sooner pay the low courier cost.
