OK, so have decided to finally do what I've been meaning to for months now - gonna start going to the gym from Wednesday.

I've been thinking three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) - would this be satisfactory for a beginner or should I make them more regular?

Some basic details about my build and diet:

I basically have an unbelievable appetite (I could literally eat for Ireland) but due to my metabolism or something, I'm 11 stone and thin. It's a bit sickening for people around me who need to watch what they eat which I can shovel food into me and remain thin. I'm 5'11 or so and 11 stone so I'm quite a lanky fecker!

I find my slimness more of a curse as I want to somewhat bulk up as my lack of muscles and upper body strength is something I want to work on. My legs are probably quite strong (more than likely due to typically walking about a hour a day for 5 days a week anyways) but some work wouldn't hurt them.

What would you suggest with regards to a weight programme for a beginner, and someone of my build?

    Many thanks in advance all.

I've a fairly similar metabolism to yourgoodself Basquille, and to be honest I've found it a nightmare trying to bulk up, believe it or not I'm still around the same weight as I was three years ago when I joined, that said I'm a hell of a lot more defined. If you want to bulk be patient and don't get disheartened.

all I can say is if you want to bulk up start taking Serious Mass by Optimum Nutrition. Worked wonders for me, although if you want to see results you hafta keep hitting the gym.

This massive appetite that you have.... what would a normal days eating look like?

Basquille, one piece of advice I would give you. Work on flexibility and form. I wish someone had drilled that into me when I started.

Make sure you warm-up/stretch before each exercise.

Also if something doesn't feel right, don't do it. Get someone to help you with form if needs be. You will see a LOT of bad form in the gym, so be careful about copying others.
