    and the basic canon ef 28-105

    I wonder is there enough in focus in the foreground? The mike which is the point of the focus(?) in the foreground is dark anyhow and with the black n white treatment it takes the detail (metal grill casing) out of it, thus you end up with a musician which is out of focus and an in focus but indistinguishable foreground subject. If i understand the idea of the shot correctly, i would have made the mike bigger in the overall composition retaining it in focus in sacrifice of some of the subject in the background - but that's only valid if i understand what you were trying to achieve :)

    A nice idea though!

    Keep the back light on the microphone to get the bright contour.

    I like it as it is though... :-)

    Thanks It was really hard to get any closer as in front of m there was another fella tuning his guitar and as they let us take a few shots i didn't want to get in the way
