Does anyone konw what's up with that helicopter flying low over the city centre? It keeps coming back every ten mins or so. Is there a manhunt on? Have alien overlords replaced our beloved govt? ???

Could it be for traffic reports for radio stations?

    it's a river search, from rte.ie

Search underway for teen in River Lee
    Sunday, 22 June 2008 21:59

Gardaí and the emergency services are searching for a 15-year-old boy who went missing after he got into difficulties while swimming in the River Lee in Cork this evening.

The teenager was with a group which was swimming at Fitzgerald Park near Cork city centre when he and another teenager got into difficulties at around 8pm.

The second teenager was rescued by a garda who jumped into the river, but the 15-year-old is still missing.

Gardaí and a number of water units from Cork City Fire Service are at the scene.

It is understood a helicopter with a heat seeking device is also on the way.

Flew over the river by the docks several times, seems strange that the above reported cited Fitzgeralds Park.

well i did see the coast guard fly over us in carrigtwohill tonight, turned on a VHF radio on channel 16, they were in communication with cork coast guard, looking for a red coloured Bouy, and a flashing light....missed the start of the conversation. they headed off to base shortly after.
might be a seperate incident. helicopter flew over about 10.30pm
