Was in touch with Jackie Skellys yesterday and apparently there is a 2 week delay on the opening due to a problem with their plant room or something. They are going to send letters out to everyone next week stating scheduled opening date and when direct debit wil be actioned (won't be taken on July 1st)

I've cancelled my membership in Jackie Skelly Newbridge...constant setbacks have been dreadful...first Direct Debit (a full month) due out 10th July but on 1st of every subsequent month..surely this cannot be right?? When do you recover the lost 9 days?? Do you really trust them to make the necessary deduction along with the 'free two weeks' at the end of the 12 month period?...I wouldn't hold my breath! They've delayed the opening but they don't want to lose money...we, the customers, will make sure of that! I've also heard lots of bad stories about this crowd chasing you for payments should you decide to leave...they charge an initiation fee of 45 euro and I don't why? I think I've made the right decision by getting out while the going is good and I'd advise other people to think likewise...Long live the Osprey...a very professional setup compared to this crowd of chancers. Any other views would be greatly appreciated..

i worked in jackieskellys for a year and nowim a paying member but only because i have to train, if i had the choice id steer wayyyyyy clear of jackieskellys, you must give 2 months PAID notice when you want to leave even if its after 12months!!!! you cannot cancel in the first 12months either so anybody kinda thinking bout leaving do it now while you have a leggit reason before they tie you down, very un-customer friendly company and i havent a good word to say about them, and before people say "your moaning bout them cause they sacked you", its far from that, i left on my terms as i was sick of teachin 5 classes a night....rant over:D

Thanks for that Judomad...it's reassuring to know that other people find this crowd to be incompetent and unprofessional..I cancelled my membership before the gym opened (it's due to open tomorrow Thursday 10th) and I've put it in writing to them...I'm just wondering if they'll attempt to take a Direct Debit payment from my account tomorrow? I'll let the group know how I get on..Also I wonder if I'm entitled to the 45 euro initiation fee back? The manager, Terry, said that I wasn't...but I'm not happy about that because they haven't provided me with any service...I'm thinking about going to the small claims court to try to recover this..any thoughts??

Just interested in poster's opinions of this gym.

Has anyone tried it since it opened ? I would like to join but have heard mixed reviews about it.

Does anyone know how much they charge ?

    Thanks for any replies
