American sizes ???

American sizes in clothes. Are they bigger or smaller ???

What would an american size medium be here?

I would say a medium is a 10-12, maybe more on the 10 side than 12, depending on what brand.

Well I'm definitely not an 8 and I fit into mediums from Guess, Abercrombie, Express, Hollister, Forever 21, etc.

Abercrombie advertise their medium as an 8-10 in UK sizes so obviously you are an 8-10

A US Medium would be about a 10 here.

To get the Iris size add on 4 to the US size, e.g. a US 8 = Irish 12.

What if they are t shirts which can be worn by male or females? There's a t shirt i want and its medium. Im a small in mens t shirts but then i would be a large in women's t shirts. So im not sure if an american medium (im guessing its men's sizes) would be to big or to small.

I find that in tops n things I tend to be a Small in the US but I always get Abercrombie Hoodies in Medium just so they are a bit baggy.

Are you ordering from a website? Check their site for a size guide. Most sites have one which gives the measurements for the sizes.
