Late night profound thoughts...

Nothing really matters except my cup of tea. I mean it may be gone soon, but while it lasts, it remains the single most important thing in the universe - from my point of view anyway, and given that I can't prove that any other points of view exist, mine is the only valid one. Then again, how can I be sure that the tea exists at all?

I studied this in philosophy last year.

    Please...

    Don't make me relive it..

Throw the tea on your face. If you scream in pain, the tea exists.

    ^Ok.

Now I'm wet and slightly warm. No screams of pain. Is it real?

I am in fact an unbelievably popular English priest who loves daytime, and none of this is real.

You added milk, didn't you? That blurs your percetion of reality you know.
I mean, how are you supposed to know if the tea is real if it doesn't even scald you?

Does food taste nicer if you make it for yourself, or if someone makes it for you?

If someone claims, in a solipsistic way, that nothing really exists outside yourself, then slap them hard across the face. When they act all shocked, just say to them that you don't really exist. :D

    Thats always really annoyed me.

If something can be disgusting, why cant something be gusting?

If somethings not disturbed, why isnt it turbed?

I'm feeling quite turbed and gusted right now TBH.

If you are hungry you may say "Feed me"
If you are thirsty what's the equivalent?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,462 ✭✭✭Aisling(",)

whats the difference between exagerating and over exagerating?

if you can be underwhelmed and overwhekmed can you just be whelmed?

whats the difference between exagerating and over exagerating?

Exaggerating is saying the fish was bigger than it was, over-exaggerating is saying it was in fact an elephant.

edit: actually i tell a lie. They are the same thing. Over exaggerating is when you get caught.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,794 ✭✭✭JC 2K3

Overexaggeration would be exaggeration to an unacceptable degree.

And "whelm" can be synonymous with "overwhelm", so "I am whelmed" and "I am overwhelmed" mean the same thing.

Does anything really exist? The past can't exist because its over, gone. The future cant exist because it hasnt happened yet.
The present goes by so quickly that before we can assess it its already gone.

Oh no.. I think I just brained my damage :(

No, it does exist, you just can't travel through it. You don't actually know another room in your house exists unless you go there and verify it, otherwise you're just using the memory of it as proof it exists. Think of time like this. You know the past exists because you can remember it, just like a room you've been in before but aren't right now. The future is like a room somewhere you haven't visited yet.

  • Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 25,872 Mod ✭✭✭✭Doctor DooM
