Heading to Edinburgh for three days in September. Never been, just wondering if you can tell me please where the centre is what street and if anybody could recommend a nice quiet hotel not too expensive it's midweek. Tried 1800 hotels loads came up but don't know location or hotel to go for. One near enough to airport and walking distance to the centre would be ideal. Thank you ;)

Hey, I would like to recommend the apex hotel. It is very central.

The main street is Princes Street for shopping.
The Royal Mile is the historical street.

The bars are dotted about, with some fab restaurants.

The apex is below the royal mile and about 10-15 mins walk to Princes Street, It has a nice bar and the restaurant is fab for breakfast it is in the penthouse and you have a full view of the castle....

Anyhow the website is above check it out, and enjoy!!

I stayed in the Thistle when I was over. Found it very good and central. Not sure what your price range is as sometimes they can be expensive depending what is on (when I book I always ring through to reservations as you may be able to negotiate with the rep).

stayed in jurys before,it's about 1 minute walk to the royal mile and about 5/10 minute walk to princes st. rates are usually reasonable except for festival time and new years obviously. it's the usual jurys standard and has a nice bar for a few late night drinks.
