    Hi all,

    looking to buy a new compact camera, perferably secondhand, and was wondering if you could recommend a good camera? I know the whole megapixel isn't everything debate.

    Can't go wrong with the Canon Digital IXUS 860 IS. It's actually still available new but should be old enough to be available in numbers second-hand. The other models: the 960 IS, and 970 IS are also excellent (and newer). My reasons: Quality camera with great results.

    Not sure of the prices second-hand but the top model, the IXUS 970 IS, is €300 new.
