    Hi all,

    I use a 3 head shaver like:

Been using this shaver for a few months now, and have build up a very dry skin patch under my chin, which is very noticible. Am using a moisturizer - isn't helping much though.

Would I be better off using a different type of shaver, or a differnet moisturizer?

My advice is that your skin needs a break , also what i would suggest for your first wet shave in a while , is a professional hot towel shave. Should cost you about 10/20 euro in the local barbers. Will really feel the difference after it cant give it more thumbs up then the two i have :D

Try using a preshave treatment, I use clinique pre-electric shave primer and it definitely helps. That said I've found that different electric shavers seem to suit me better so it may just be a bad match for you.

Finally, I remember hearing a while ago that when using an electric shaver you should shave the sensitive parts first as the shaver head tend to heat up when in use.

If you have a hot spot (dry patch), a wet shave may only make it worse as a wet shave takes the first layer of skin off which can exacerbate an existing skin condition.

It would be interesting to know what your shaving routine is.

Do you clear your shaver after every shave?
Do you use a lubricant on your shaver?
Do you shave on dry skin?
Have you had any cuts or abrasions on your face?
