It's time for a change. I have decided to get my usually black hair dyed brown (only because my job won't let me do purple)

Can anyone recommend a good website where I can see loads of different shades of brown so I can decide what shade to have my own hair dyed? I'm looking for a rich chestnut, or maybe something more auburny. Maybe some highlights too, I've never had those.

Does anyone have a ballpark as to how much it would cost to get this done? My hair's medium length, fairly thick. If it's too expensive I might dye it myself (which always end up interesting) and just get the cut done professionally.

Go into a ssalon & look thru some colour books.. or get a consultation - your not obligated to go any further if you dont want too..

Yeah, I'm probably going to wreck the poor sytlists head!

I'd like to make sure I know what I want before going in, because I don't want to take up anyone's time going "Em, eh, maybe..." for too long.

When dying hair, I find its better to find a picture of someone with the hair colour rather then picking it out of a book.. as the colour in the picture is the actual colour you want .. whilst the colour in the book.. may come out brighter or darker then expected.. you can never be sure..

So.. check out this website.. well.. It's actually a group on myspace.. lots and lots of colours.. just print out a pic of your favourite one and bring it in to the hairdresser.http://groups.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=groups.groupProfile&groupid=100174427&Mytoken=DC29DE4B-0F6A-4D2D-86E0D3A5C8299FED400633059 Don't be put off by the appearance of this page, just pick from one of the lists.. and you'll find loads of colours.. Hope this helps. :)
