Any reccomendations on accomodation for 2 adults / 2 kids in the Salou area ?

Doesnt have to be flash or anything. Nice pool, decent food and kids activities / evening entertainment - that sort of stuff.

    Cheers

we stayed at the hotel villa romana. it wasn't our choice the online booker moved us there from next door, its only a short walk to the beach maybe 5 minutes and about 10 minutes walk from the theme park, it was a very decent hotel and included those things you mention

we originally had booked H10 Salauris Palace but the hotel was closed for some reason that week, its back open again

    have a look here http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotels-g562814-Salou_Costa_Dorada_Catalonia-Hotels.html

If you are looking for something a little bit different you could try sanguli... Its a caravan/camping park where you can rent mobile homes(they're fab), and its really central.

I was there as a teenager with my family and it was brilliant, way better than all the other hotel/apartment holidays I'd been on. There is 3 pools/ couple of bars & restaurants, games rooms, and lots more.

Cambrils ( connected by long beach to Salou ) has more decent restaurants and may be less noisy . Worth a google anyway !

H 10 Princess. There are about 4 H10 in Salou, all top of the range, perfect for kids.

we booked three rooms here, worst place ever!! avoid like the plague! one of our rooms got broken into and robbed, another - ant infestation, it was horrible and the holiday was totally riuned because of the apartments. I know someone who stayed in Cambrils and they loved it and highly recommended it! they said its a lot nicer and cleaner that salou!

Salou is a kip ot has to be said, been there only once and if you have kids the only place to go in Portadventura. That way you don't have to go near the town.

+1 it's a right kip Port Aventura is a bit more expensive but well worth it - it's safe and there's loads to do for kids at the hotel at night (and the amazing theme park as well!) it's fantastic been there twice already wouldn't go near Salou especially at night it's very rough. I certainly wouldn't bring my kids there.
Port Aventura is pretty much the next best thing to Disneyland in Europe and some would argue it's better but I haven't been to Eurodisney yet so I can't say for myself, but my kids are still talking about it two years later - we went back earlier this year and hopefully will go again next year.
Also they do half board deals and the food is fantastic.
