Buying a PS3

Hey all. I'm looking at buying a PS3 in the next week or so. I've been into most of the shops around town that would stock them (except tesco actually), and I've been checking out prices and bundles. Ideally what I'd like to get is a 60Gb PS3 (I've been told the 40Gb aren't backwards compatible with the PS2 games) and MGS4.
Looking in the shops, I haven't seen any bundles with 60Gb PS3s. I haven't actually looked for the console without a bundle yet, but is it possible to buy the 60Gb model in stores anywhere? I have seen a few in Game, second hand though (about €400, which I think is a bit much for a second hand system, even if that is a common priced for a used one), but thats about it so far. Also what price would I be looking at for the console?

60GB has been off the market for 9 months and 40GB is the only model available.
The only way to get a 60GB unit is 2nd hand, preferably from store with some sort of guarantee.
€400 for 2nd 60GB is fair price considering its sought after for its PS2 emulation and SA-CD support.

I saw the 60gb for €440 today pre-owned with a one year warranty. Are the PS3s known for reliability? I haven't heard any bad stories, but I wouldn't want to buy a pre-owned one and then for something to happen after a year.

There have being some reported problems with the 40GB not reading disc's, this is completely random though.

Make sure to Put it in an area with lots of air circulating around it, gets very warm.
There were rumours that a 80gb was coming out wtih all the stuff from the 60GB for the people that wanted to spend the money.

I unfortuantly have the 40Gb model, sometimes i miss the PS2 titles, i will stop missing them when more games come out.

I personally would rather get a brand new one TBH, just i know iam playing it with my usage, some of the second hand one may have alot of mile ran up on them! My own personal opinion, not gospel!
You will love it if you get it!
