Mmm there's lots of carbs in it, a lot of it probably sugar too so I can't see it being good for a diabetic. You really should just ask your doctor though.

Read the ingredients, but I'd say that as a general rule, anything with the word "Gain" in the title is at least half sugar.

well i got it in the "healthstore" and they were unsure but it says 1.6g per serving???

Promax or Progain? Promax is just whey and would only have a very small amount of carbs in it, the other has quite a bit of sugary carbs in it.

Either way bring the nutritional details into your doctor, tell them how much you plan on taking and let him/her decide, not us random internet people!

thanks.interesting because it have high carbs but also notes that what in it does NOT raise blood sugar levels..

I'd take that with a giant shaker of salt. Obviously some carb sources are better than others but your blood sugar will still be raised, to what extent is the important part. Considering you're insulin dependent it is a pretty important question. You should really just talk to your doctor first tbh.

And he had a very valid point. I know that a poster here has slated me in the past for saying this, but i stand by it. Your local GP will not be massively well up on issues like this and you would be much better off going to a Nutritionist as he mentioned.

And far play to him for pointing you in the right direction.

    lol.

I'd rather take nutrion advice off George Hook then a GP.

Go onto one of the bigger boddybuilding sites and ask are there any diabetics and what do they use.

Tbh, they're both just covering their own ar$e.

Maximuscle can't say take it incase it does **** you up becasue they become liable.

Your doctor can't say take it, because again if it messes you up he's up sh!t creek.

I'd be surprised if a nutritionist cleared you either because then THEY become liable.

The problem is, while it might be perfectly ok for you to take it, even the slightest of risks means these guys won't recommend it to you because they're not performing their duty of care.

The fact that both the doc and maximuscle can't give you a straight answer suggests they don't know what kind of response it might have if you took it - they won't know what you have eaten in the hours prior or what you have drank - so it's hard to tell I'd imagine. I think when in doubt leave it out....do you really need to use this particular product/are there other products you could look at?
