So I have my induction day in a major sports shop on Saturday at midday, now I'm just wondering usually how long they take as I have to be in Longford by 7.30 (5.05 train from Dublin). Anyone help? I'd go with a rought guess of 2 hours?

I'd say it's a full day thing where they bring you through everything you need to know when working in there.

That's what I was thinking, but well would seem a bit I dunno, ringing them up "Ye how long will this induction day be".:p Sure I'll do it anyway tomorrow.:D

Just tell them the truth - that you need to catch a train at 5pm - and ask if this will be ok.

I would also have thought it would be a full day thing but you don't know until you ask ;)

Thing is though I'll be asking for the 4th July off, and then the 10th - 13th July off as I'm working at a festival.:(

    I'll ring tomorrow and let you's know.:D

    Are they looking for people?

For the festival? Unfortunately no, I got the job through a mate.

Ask if you can start your induction at opening time instead of midday as you have to catch a train @ 5pm. Or even work on a Friday evening? At least that way they will see that you are really interested in the job and willing to reorganise your schedule to make sure you can attend.

I'd probably leave out saying the reason you have to catch the train is that you dont want to miss the Longford-Shels game! ;)
