If I upgrade to a new phone on meteor..

    I'm on meteor already. If I get a new phone, lets just say there's up to 120 euro credit that comes with it.

    I get around 30 for just buying the phone and registering the phone, but the remaining 90 or so gets dished out 10 euro at a time every month. Do I have to top up independently of this free credit to continue getting the free credit?

    Or could I just live off the 10 euro per month they give me and never have to top up to keep receiving it?

    As far as I know you have to top up once a month (might be two months) or your free credit is frozen. But you can just top up by €5 or €10 so if you typically use more than €15 a month you're still grand, you won't be stuck with loads of useless credit building up. But to avail of free texts Meteor to Meteor you have to top up by €20 a month and the free €10 doesn't count towards this as far as I'm aware.

    You have to top up by €20 in the one go to get your free credit and free texts....buying 2x €10 tops up will not get you free texts or free credit....the price of the phone you buy also makes a difference....let's say you buy a €60 phone you might only get €60 credit.......make sure and check the phone value when your thinking of buying....I think Voda and 02 work the same way.....3 is the only network giving you €10 for €10 and the price of the phone dosen't affect the credit you get....

    So do I understand this correctly : To continue getting the 10 euro free credit per month from meteor I will have to top up by 20 euro per month, but to get my free 10 euro per month from 3 I would only have to top up by 10 euro per month? Thanks

    Nope. You get €10 on the 10th of each month providing that you topped up with a total of €10 in the previous calendar month.

    However, the free texts and phone a friend for free promotions require you to top up by €20 in one go in order to activate. This is completely seperate to your phased credit query though.
