Replacement for 400D ..

    Hi
    NOT that I'm going to get a new camera anytime soon ...
    I've spent enough on lenses lately :)

    but for long (ish) term planning what is a good camera to replace the 400D ?
    sticking with Canon of course ... I was thinking before the 40D .. there is a thread somewhere .. but lately with getting L lenses I've thought its good to spend as these are investments .. so 5D ?? 5D MK II is coming out in Sept I think ...

    but this seems expensive .. am i better off sticking with a 40D ? .. this has a fast fps shooting rate , better then the 5D , i would look for this before full frame size...i like the extra length i get out of TP lenses with a 1.6X sensor.. (I can always use the 10-22 mm lens for wide) ...

    Do you have many EF-S lenses? If so, I'd go for the 40D.

    All my lenses are EF .. apart from the Tamron 17-50 DII f2.8..

    Whats the replacement for the 40D ?

    will it be the 45D or 50D ?

    it's not out that long so you'll be waiting...

    On the 5D, I got to try one out today (with a 50mm f1.2 L) at the CPS event in Leopardstown and was pretty impressed. I was waiting for the 5D replacement but I'm not sure if the dramatic price premium over the 40D would be worth it, especially considering the fact that you really would need all 'L' glass to get the best out of it (which means getting at least 2 new lenses too).
