    Hi,

I hope any current or training guards may read this and possibly advise me. I'm currently doing a law degree but have always been drawn to join the Gardai. I don't know why, it's something I can't explain but I really think that it's the right path for me. Firstly I wish to know, if it would stand to me to finish the degree firstly (or enter with one of three years completed), and if it would honestly benefit me as a Garda during my career or make no difference... I'm aware that joining with any degree you get two/three increments in salary but am wondering if it would be considered in terms of promotion to higher ranks etc.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
