Can anyone reccommend me a good hair straighteners?
Mine really arent much good because they were cheap.
I was thinking of spending about €50/€60 on them. Would i get good ones for that or would i need to spend more?

I've bought many hair straighteners over the pas few years. None of them worked very well and/or broke very quickly. I even bought a koka (or something like that) one from the hairdressing shop on middle abbey street as I was told it was just like a ghd but cheaper. Both lost their ability to get really hot.

I've had my GHD for over three years now and they still work perfectly. In my opinion it's worth paying extra for.

I'm sure other boardsies will have recommendations though of ones that work ok if you really can't afford the 150 yoyos.

    I have this one http://www.argos.ie/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=30001&partNumber=4423731

It is exactly as good at straightening as a GHD, for me the wide plate make it better than the GHDs I have used.

Once a straightner heats up to 230 degrees it should work just as good.

I've tried many straightners over the years but recently switched to the GHD and although expensive (€179.00) is the best by a long shot.
The best of the others I've used was a KODO one, can't remember how much it cost though sorry. :o

I've gone through many straighteners, all rubbish, the only one i found good and now use which is my ghd which as the others said is quite expensive but completely worth it. :D

I never wanted to spent the money on the GHD so I got a babybliss first and then i got a remmginton and then another 1 which name I can't remember.tbh they were all sh!t and i would have saved money if i had bought the GHD in the first place. I am so glad i bought it, it doesn't take as long to straighten my hair(and i have seriously wild hair!! lol) it leaves it with a great shine and overall it is just fantastic well worth the extra money. if you really cant afford it yourself do you have a sister or someone who would go havers with you or maybe even your mum? (sorry im just assuming your young and live at home, apologies if your not! )

Where would i get a GHD? I was lookin for a cheaper alternative but if its the best option, i'll look into it.
I have naturally reasnobly straight hair anyway. Thats why i thought there might be a cheaper option that would suit me

BTW, sunshine rose, I live alone, I wont comment on the young part :D

    hehehe so sorry phi3!

i got my GHD in peter marks but i don't no where else sells them. i was going to say for you to go into them and ask them if you really need the GHD seeing as you said that your hair is quite straight anyway but then i coppped on and realised that they are trying to sell them so of course they are going to tell you that you need them! duh:o

It really isn't the best option....I haven't tried any others recently but the one i mentioned is 100% just as good.
I have hair like you, but even people with thick unruly hair who have borrowed mine...told me so.

Here are some reviews for the babyliss.

Oddly enough I travel from Dublin (where I live and work) to Portlaoise to get my hair done. The guy who does my hair is just fantastic. Anyway, his hair salon sells them, thats where I got mine. If you want the name of it PM me.
You could also try ebay for a GHD

Peter Mark's sell GHDs as others have said, but I got a GHD kit in an other hairdresserswith travel bag, mat, shampoo, conditioner and a few other products for around €200 and they threw in a bottle of GHD oil (around €20) free, so look around first.

I always swore by my GHD, but there's no temperature control so it always heats to 230 degrees leaving your hair dead straight and even a bit flat and think poker straight hair has kind of had it's day.

My friend had that babyliss one after her ghd's broke and did her hair so much damage!... GHD's ftw or you could try fhi's. Another friend has these and swears by them...

Definitely A GHD, expensive but worth it and they last, I have had mine years..

just splash out and get a GHD.youll save yer money n the long run. None are as good. I had a KODA one and then one day,it just stopped working..for no reason at all..when i brought it back, they said that they had nothing but problems with them and loads had been brought back..the same thing happened to my sisters one.

We both got GHDs then. Ive had mine for years and not a bit of trouble with it.

Have had loads of straighteners over the years but like all the others my ghd is definitely the best:D. I got mine in Peter Marks its the gorgeous pink one was €179 for the GHD, a bag and mat and accessories

Like many have said already, I bought several cheap straightners over the years before getting a GHD, no others are as good, def worth the money :)

I don't have strong hair, it is fine.
And the Babyliss one hasn't damaged my hair at all.
I use a weaker heat setting.

Also while alot of people have had good expierencs with their GHD's reliabilty here.
That hasn't been the expierence of my friends, they certainly aren't bulletproof.

As most people have said GHD is the best you can get.... its well worth the price because it'll last you years.....
I got mine in Peter Mark... I dont know anywhere else that sells them.
(There's gorgeous white out now aswell:D:D)
The only other one I ever used was a Kodo and it DESTROYED my hair!!
