With the summer upon us (well kind of) I am coming up with ideas to keep the kids happy and taken them on good days.So what better way of doing this than pick your brains here and then go back to MrsDub13 and pass your ideas off as mine.

    My kids are 5,3 and 18 months.We normally do things like Ardgillan Castle,Malahide Castle,The Zoo,Newbridge House...etc etc.Can you add to the list...?Thanks.

Funtasia has its dinosaur expo on, And if the weather is nice you have a day out at the beach as well.

The new waterpark has also opened up in Drogheda.

Newgrange farm beside Slane is nice for a day out for a picnic.

Puddenhill, is good as well, petting farm and ball area, restaurant and bar all in one. On the N2.

My kids love to go swimming, So an hour at the pool is good too. Finglas swimming pool is quite reasonable for a big family!

I brought my older two (5 and 3 at the time) and they loved it. Needs to be dry and you'd want a few hours in there as theres lots to do. Theres stuff for kids up to 12 at least also and if you had a two year old into rough and tumble, they would it too. But you'd have to hold onto them quite a bit.

Ours have been in ENRG loads of times, kidzone in the fitness place in Fairview(probably need to be a member if not part of a party), Kidzone in Swords and Leisureplex in Coolock and they love them all. Great for those rainy days.

    In my opinoin,
    ENRG (4-8 year olds)
    Kidzone (2-6 year olds)
    Fitzone(4-8 year olds)
    Leisureplex(2-8 year olds)

Another outdoor playground is the Santry Demense. Huge grass area also for walking/picnics.

I haven't been to Imaginosity as my two are a little too small yet, but I have only heard good things about it from mums on another website, they love it and apparently it can keep kids from about 8 months to 12 years entertained for hours.

Imaginosity has some great stuff, and kept our 4 year old entertained for 3-4 hours. The downside is that they charge €8 per head for parents as well, so you're probably going to limit it to one parent.

Check out your local council website. Dun Laoghaire Rathdown did open-air films (Madagascar for kids in the afternoon) a few weekends ago. Dublin CIty have a family day coming up in Herbert park soon.

Check out the local theatres. Draiocht had a family day on Sunday. We went to two shows (€5 per head for each), and they had free art sessions (colouring, making) available all day.
