malahide castle gigs

anyone been to to any of the gigs in malahide castle? which side of the park is the entrance to the gig normally at? going to a gig and one of the lads is on crutches, trying to figure out where to get dropped by car so he won't have a lot of walkin to do, will the back road be closed to traffic,?

its the 'main' entrance which is normally refered to as the 'back' of the castle

that road will be closed to traffic as far as i know but it will be open early in the day as they have car parks but they fill up quickly and you wont want to park their in the morning and hang around waiting for the gig

im sure if you explain the situation they will let you drive up the road as they let residents by the cordons but i dont know if i would take the risk that the garda was a dick though maybe ring the council and try and get a pass or something i assume they have to have some sort of disabled access

If your friend is on crutches the best way to go would be to follow the signs for the official car park which is at the main entrance for the Castle. There should be no problem getting dropped here so long as you go a few metres past the entrance so as not to block it! This entrance is about a 100m walk to the arena. If you enter through the gate closer the village the walk is closer to 1km and will be more crowded as this is where all the DART passengers enter the grounds!
