hey, just wondering, is the bluray player in the ps3 as good as a stand alone bluray player? i have heard people say its not as good but i thaught id come here and ask! so anyone kno? EDIT: it should say ps3 in the thread title, that was the weirdest typo ever!

it's the best cost to quality player out there, and it always will be until some manufacturer releases standalone blu-ray players with an ethernet port and memory to upgrade the firmware on the player.

Yes if you want a player that can get the lates updates and so on. Picture and sound is excellent.
