well there's a panda. his father wants him to take over the family noodle business, but he wants to be a ninja at the temple up the hill where the 'fabulous five' (or fantastic five.. some stupid alliteration) train and live. The head of the temple decides it's time to find the holy dragon warrior and holds a big festival.. thing, panda sneaks in.. temple head decides he's the dragon warrior.. stuff happens.

Friends said it was great. Thats good enough for me.

I know a fact about Pandas. They have the exact same colours as a Killer Whale (Orca), but cant swim, funnily enough. Weird??

I'm going to spoiler tag my whole post so I can talk openly about this.
It's a good film. Amazing action sequences and funny parts, but I just thought that JacK Black dominated the whole movie. The supporting cast barely had a say; Jackie Chan had maybe 2 lines in the whole thing, Angelina Jolie was wasted, and the bad guy sounded like Eddie Izzard. Not a bad thing, but just not suited. And Jack Black's voice is not suited to an animated role.

June isn't over yet and cinemas are only putting the merchandising in now.

I want to bring my nephew to see it this Saturday, I would like to book tickets on line prior to Saturday. That's why I am looking now.

Ditto to your spoilerizing everything I say:
Jack Black just made this film for me. Just wouldnt have been the same without him.
And yes the big stars were "wasted" but I'm sure thats not how they saw it. They probably had a few 100 thousand or million thrown at them to say 2 lines, potentially over the phone, just to add their weight to the opening nights. I'd say it was quite beneficial to both sides. They werent really meant to be there as serious actors, just to draw a crowd/hype it up. and I think it worked :p

And I second the recommendation, its really, really good. I just wish I knew how they managed to get a real panda to move like that! ;)

Nothing special really, all in all a good but not great film. Had a few good laughs and it'll definitely entertain children. Kind of like a child's animated version of Wanted. Kind of.

A good, but not great film.

The cartoon format leant it self greatly to exaggerated facial expressions - like the "Monkey leaves his cookies on the top shelf" scene (which has a reprise in the 'stills' in the closing credits when monket goes looking for cookies) and the scene where the baddie kicks the bamboo sticks from under Panda.

Interesting that the male rhinocerouses had nipples!

    AHEM!!!!

    Kung Fu Panda, not ninja

Pedantic alert here I know but from training in martial arts (kung fu as it matters), I always hated when people said "oh can you do a karate chop" or something like that

Great flick, with some excellent tallent doing little cameos

I know I'm not exactly the target market but I was bored to tears by this, it's not even remotely amusing.
