    some difference in price too... for a macbook pro $349 (~ €233) vs €448.99 here! is applecare worth having? I'm heading to NYC next month and i'm looking at getting my first macbook pro. will prob have a lot of noob questions but internet generally has most answers. I assume reliabilty is good with macs?

    Well, the first mac i bought was an ibook G4 and it didn't have apple care. Its still running perfectly and i use it regularly. Although, with my planned upcoming purchase of a mac pro, i will most definitely be purchasing applecare. For that much money, i want to be guaranteed that it'll be fine for the extra few years. I have saved a lot of money to get me this mac pro and i have no issue shelling out an extra few quid on applecare. You should buy applecare with your new macbook pro, especially as it will be very cheap in the states. I hope you do buy the macbook pro, and tbh i'm pretty sure you will after stepping inside the 5th ave. store!! It's amazing...... and impossible to resist buying more mac stuff!! Enjoy!

    yea cheers can't wait! already have new ipod and speaker system factored in as well. reckon for the couple hundred € applecare is worth it. just hope the €/$ rate hangs on in there...
